Show Notes:

We’ve had the real honor of featuring several local and nationally recognized nonprofit organizations on the podcast. We especially love the nonprofits whose missions are to improve the lives of children and families in need – organizations like “The Pinky Swear Foundation” and “The Addison Hutchison Foundation.” During the COVID-19 pandemic, organizations like these faced a real challenge when it came to fundraising – most of their signature fundraising events were cancelled or held virtually, which significantly diminished their ability to raise much needed funds. The need to share their stories and their message became ever greater, and we’re always honored to be able to help them in any way we can here on the podcast.

Which brings me to the nonprofit we’re featuring in this episode: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas. For more than 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. And for nearly 50 of those years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas has been providing mentors for children in the greater Charlotte and Lake Norman regions. Today, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas  serves more than 1,500 children through traditional community- and school-based mentoring and innovative specialty programs that connect caring adults with local children in meaningful one-to-one relationships.

The CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters Central Carolinas, Donna Dunlap, joins me to share her story, the organization’s mission, and how she and her team are working tirelessly to change the lives of kids in our community who are facing adversity for the better. Friends, this is a special episode, and I’m glad you’re joining us. I’ll share a call to action (or two) on the other side of my conversation with Donna, so be sure to stick around for that.
