Jetton Park on Lake Norman in Cornelius is an oasis for locals looking to get away from it all. Believe it or not, this was my first visit to Jetton Park in the more than 15 years since moving to North Carolina.

Driving into Jetton Park

Jetton Park – Overview

Jetton Park spans over 105 acres on Lake Norman’s Southeastern shore, in the cove of Ramsey Creek.

It’s easy to get to and conveniently located near the entrance of The Peninsula neighborhood.

Jetton Park – Amenities

There are numerous activities available in Jetton Park

Walkers, hikers, and joggers will enjoy over 1.5 miles of paved trails throughout the park. Mountain bikers also have a 1.3-mile trail here.

The park also has lighted tennis courts, several of which were in use while I visited. However, I was surprised that there were no pickleball courts here. I’m sure that’s only a matter of time.

Picnic sites are scattered throughout the park with plenty of space between sites. I can see Jetton Park being a popular spot for family picnics and gatherings.

Speaking of which, there’s also an event venue called the Waterfront Hall that can be reserved.

I spotted a large playground within the park, as well.

The Beach at Jetton Park

The beach here is a great spot for sitting and relaxing, reading, or catching some rays. But, swimming is not allowed at Jetton Park.

Near the beach is one of Lake Norman’s most iconic spots for photography. This is a great spot to catch spectacular sunsets on the lake. You can see an example below and in our Lake Norman dog-friendly blog post.
