Surrounded by the inviting aromas of her hand-poured candles, Laura Messer, founder and owner of Davidson Candle Company, embodies entrepreneurial determination and vision. After moving with her family to Davidson, NC, from California in 2021, she fell in love with the vibrant downtown and welcoming community. Paying tribute to this connection, she named her business after her new home.
Over the past three years, Laura has built Davidson Candle Company from the ground up, establishing its grassroots reputation through online sales, local stores, and seasonal markets.
With 10 years of candle-making experience, safety and quality are paramount for Davidson Candle Company. Laura carefully selects the finest ingredient and through extensive testing finds the most efficient yet safest combination for optimal burn, scent and safety.
“I love it when people share how my candles trigger a memory for them,” says Laura. For her, those stories make all the hard work worthwhile.
Grand Opening | Davidson Candle Company
As Laura prepares to open the doors to Davidson Candle Company’s new brick-and-mortar candle bar store in Downtown Davidson, she’s eager to share her passion with her customers.
“It’ll be more than just a retail space,” she says. “The store will offer customers the chance to craft their own memories by creating personalized candles, room sprays, and diffusers.” You’ll also find Laura hand-pouring candles and fulfilling orders, as it will be a fully working hub.
Laura feels immense gratitude for the community that has supported her to reach this stage. And as she moves into this next chapter, I can’t help but wonder what new memories and connections will glow.
