Big Day at the Lake benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas
On Saturday, July 22nd, 2023 hundreds of local volunteers, sponsors, and boat owners will gather on Lake Norman to open their hearts to the “Littles” of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas is celebrating their 50th year of helping children realize their potential by pairing them with mentors (“Bigs”) in the community.

Big Day at the Lake is made possible each year by hundreds of local volunteers and corporate sponsors.
As one of the presenting sponsors, Freedom Boat Club of Lake Norman & Lake Wylie is also helping to provide much-needed boats and captains for the Big Day. Members of Freedom Boat Club participate to help make the event a success.

Big Day at the Lake 2023 – Events
Here’s the itinerary for this year’s Big Day at the Lake:
- Boat hosts join “Bigs” and “Littles” at local marinas and venture onto the lake for a day of fun.
- “Littles” enjoy boat rides, tubing, and swimming on the lake.
- Before the day is over, everyone is treated to an epic picnic at Duke Energy Explorium where they’ll enjoy food, ice cream, music, and bounce houses.
