Paras Gore’s three nephews used to sit through family birthdays and holidays with two or three Oreos each – the only thing on the table that wouldn’t send them to the emergency room. So she put her organic chemistry background to work and started rebuilding dessert from the ground up. Today, Atelier Doux is an allergy-friendly bakery serving the Lake Norman and Charlotte area, and those brownies have a cult following.
