The founder of this organization, Jim Vogel, has done an excellent job of building a very enthusiastic local small business network.

3. LakeNet

LakeNet is a private networking group that offers a similar format to larger organizations like BNI but at a lower cost and less bureaucracy.

4. Women in Networking Lake Norman Chapter

Just as the name implies, Women in Networking is a women-only professional networking organization. There is a small fee to join, and meetings are held weekly.

5. WINS Women’s Network – Lake Norman

WINS Women’s Network is hosted by the Lake Norman Chamber and is open to all women, regardless of industry or employment status. WINS does not require an application to attend meetings, and there is no fee.

6. Charlotte Business Group – Lake Norman Chapter

Charlotte Business Group is a private business group founded by Robert Hackney, a Charlotte-based financial advisor. The CBG-Lake Norman chapter meets once per month at a coffee shop, along with the occasional lunch and learn meeting. There is a nominal fee and registration required for attendance.

1st Thursday monthly at 8 AM.

Summit Coffee – Birkdale Landing

  • Experienced business networking group with a large membership in Charlotte.
  • Annual and seasonal events in Charlotte draw big attendance.

7. Lake Norman Executive Board

The Lake Norman Executive Board is a local professional networking organization that operates much in the same way as others on this list, including BNI. What sets LKNXB apart from national organizations like BNI is that it is founded locally and operates only in the Lake Norman area.

North Harbor Club

8. NAWBO – Charlotte

NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners) Charlotte has a meetup on Wednesdays in Huntersville.

This is another local professional networking organization that is exclusive to women only. The Lake Norman chapter is part of the larger NAWBO Charlotte chapter whose mission it is to promote the success of over 115,000 women-owned businesses in the Charlotte metro area.

1st Wednesday at 8:30 AM.

Waterbean Coffee – Huntersville

9. Executive Women of Lake Norman

Another local professional network for women only. Executive Women of Lake Norman was founded in 2010 and focuses on nurturing the success of local women in business. The group also participates in charitable initiatives that give back to the local community.

BNI is the “granddaddy” of professional networking organizations.
