1. Pinky’s Westside Grill  (2,580 Google Reviews)

Featured twice (and soon to be thrice!) on Food Network hit Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, Pinky’s is a local cornerstone that’s worked up national buzz – and with good reason. This joint serves up eclectic takes on classic American favorites like burgers, dogs, and of course, fried pickles.

Must-order dish: The triple G burger, with its three five-ounce beef patties, is an absolute behemoth. Want to groove like Guy Fieri? Try it Westside Style: smothered in mustard, chili, slaw, and onion.

Address: 9818 Gilead Rd STE 101B, Huntersville, NC 28078
Hours: 11am-11pm Friday & Saturday; 11am-9pm Sunday-Wednesday; 11am-10pm Thursday & Friday

Huntersville NC restaurants Pinky's Westside Grill

5 stars all the way across the board every time I eat here. It never disappoints. They just remodeled and it looks so cool. The customer service was split among a few people which I didn’t mind the team effort is truly amazing. I loved it… My favorite part of this restaurant is that they have such an alternative menu. Everything from burgers to salads, to baskets. The bathrooms are always clean and they stay up to time with music and decor.

2. Duckworth’s Grill & Taphouse  (2,419 Google Reviews)

This isn’t the first time we’ve mentioned Duckworth’s, and it won’t be the last. The Charlotte-based pub is the cheesesteak capital of North Carolina and boasts a fresh take on casual American dining.

Must-order dish: We recommend the Philly Cheesesteak Supreme: Steak, grilled onions, green peppers, mushrooms & choice of cheese with a side of Fresh-Cut Fries.

Bonus: Try one of over 40 craft beers on tap!

Great place with awesome fast friendly service and amazing food! Huge beer selection! Enjoyed everything that we had. Pretzel bites, loaded cheese fries, fish and chips, and smokehouse Philly cheese steak were all very good! Will be back!

3. La Unica Mexican Restaurant  (2,125 Google Reviews)

Perfectly seared beef, succulent seafood, crispy tortilla chips, and fresh salsa – this is only a fraction of the incredible menu at La Unica, where each authentic Mexican dish is packed with homey flavor.

Must-order dish: The classic (for a reason) Carne Asada, or Mexican skirt steak served with rice and beans. Can’t go wrong there.

Address: 16203 Northcross Dr, Huntersville, NC 28078
Hours: 10am-10pm Friday & Saturday; 10:30am-9:30pm Sunday; 11am-9:30pm Monday-Thursday

Huntersville restaurants La Unica

Excellent service from Dulce – she was on top of everything from beginning to end. The food was served hot and fresh. We ordered fajitas and, much to our delight, nothing was dried out or burned! The serving size was perfect for lunch. Chips were slightly thicker than other Mexican restaurants, and we liked that because they held up well to the mild and spicy salsas were served before the meal. Prices are very affordable and the quality was great.

There are not enough good words to describe how amazing Eez is. From the fresh, delicious, and creative food & sushi rolls, to the stunning restaurant itself, to the wonderful staff. All around a 10/10 experience every single time. The prices are 100% justified for the quality of food you are getting. We loved our server, Ethan, tonight. He was amazing even through the POS system going down.

5.  Red Rocks Cafe  (1,449 Google Reviews)

Beautiful. Sleek. Classic. Comforting. This is the image that comes to mind when one thinks of Red Rocks. The laid-back, upscale eatery is another Birkdale favorite, known for its premium steaks, rich seafood, delicious pasta, and decadent desserts.

Must-order dish: Red Rocks’ Lobster Ravioli is tossed in a sherry-lobster cream sauce, accompanied by pan-seared shrimp, and topped with asparagus and parmesan cheese. Absolutely decadent, if you ask me.

Address: 8712 Lindholm Dr, Huntersville, NC 28078
Hours: 11am-11pm Friday & Saturday; 11am-9:30pm Sunday; 11am-10:30pm Monday-Thursday

Staff is top-notch and always very friendly and helpful. The food is amazing and especially when they have the special occasion buffets (be sure to make a reservation!) Definitely a good variety of food, desserts and cocktails. The atmosphere is relaxing inside and outside is fantastic for watching Birkdale happenings and people watching. I would highly recommend Red Rocks.

6. Lancaster’s BBQ  (1,189 Google Reviews)

Serving up some of the freshest and most authentic BBQs in all of NC, it’s no surprise that Lancaster’s has made the list. Following the success of its founding location in Moorseville, the Huntersville site pays homage to its roots – an old gas station – with nostalgic memorabilia and a down-home atmosphere.

Must-order dish: BBQ Pork Dinner – the meal that made Lancaster’s famous!

We eat here often on Fridays for date nights. It’s a hometown mom and pop restaurant type atmosphere. You always feel welcomed and the servers are friendly and attentive. The food is never bad. I am a tough critic but I give this restaurant excellent reviews. You will not be disappointed.

7. Famous Toastery (1,192 Google Reviews)

Though Famous Toastery has found nationwide success, it was founded right here in NC. Whether you’re looking for a hearty breakfast, a casual brunch, or a midday pick-me-up, this creative joint has got

Must-order dish: Famous Hash. To pork it up a little, we recommend adding a side of bacon.

Quality ingredients with a chef’s touch and super reasonably priced! The service was impeccable! Caution: Super popular, so there’s a wait but the wait isn’t bad because they’re really efficient. Alcohol is served even in the morning.

8. Londa’s Place  (1,101 Google Reviews)

When Londa says soul food, the woman means it. Every dish on the menu looks, smells, and tastes just like momma made it. From collards and cornbread to fried oxtails and mac, to the best damn peach cobbler you’ve ever had, Londa’s will fill your stomach and your heart.

Must-order dish: Londa’s features rotating daily specials, but we recommend the smothered pork chop and rice if you can get your hands on it.

Address: 3635 Mt Holly-Huntersville Rd, Charlotte, NC 28214
Hours: 11am-7pm Wednesday-Saturday; Closed Sunday-Tuesday

OUSTANDING FOOD AND CUSTOMER SERVICE! I must fully note that the service at Londa’s Place is of a standard I believe a lot of places are missing! The staff is warm, kind and on top of your needs while you are in their comfort! The food is amazing. I’ve tried quite a few menu options and have yet to be disappointed. The flavors are mouth-watering, the meats are always juicy and the portions are healthy! The desserts are delicious! And the sweet tea/lemonade mix is the best I’ve had. The pictures don’t do justice but any time someone wants soul food, I immediately direct them to Londa’s Place.

9. Midwood Smokehouse  (1,079 Google Reviews)

Midwood Smoke is no joke. As our second BBQ entry on this list, I’m inclined to tell you not to pit these joints against each other, but this one holds a very special place in my heart. Not only is the food dang near unbeatable, but Midwood’s atmosphere has a special knack for making priceless memories.

Must-order dish: Order the burnt ends at any cost.

Address: 16710 Birkdale Commons Pkwy, Huntersville, NC 28078
Hours: 11am-9pm Sunday-Thursday; 11am-10pm Friday & Saturday

I would visit Midwood Smokehouse for the staff alone! The fact that the food tastes so good is just an added bonus! From the moment we arrived, everyone made us feel like they were delighted that we were there. I would highly recommend this restaurant for any of your desired dining experiences.

There’s something so satisfying about building your own dish – and Bad Daddy’s has taken it to the next level. This hip joint gets your artistic juices flowing with BYO burgers, salads, sandwiches, and shakes. Not feeling too creative? Not to worry. They’ve also got a wide selection of curated plates for those who prefer the comfort of a menu.

Must-order dish: The Bad Ass Burger – that is, if you can handle two 5oz Angus beef patties with Housemade American Cheese, buttermilk fried bacon, horseradish mayo, lettuce, tomato & pickle. A side of tots and Bad Daddy’s sauce is a must!

Bonus: The fried chicken is the unexpected star of the century, I tell you.

I’ve never been disappointed here; the burgers and sandwiches are great – and huge! Definitely makes a meal. If you’re looking for a “craft burger” experience (as opposed to quick basic fast food) I can’t think of a better place in the area.

11. Las Meras Tortas (965 Google Reviews)

What appears to be an unassuming gas station hole-in-the-wall is actually one of the area’s best Mexican restaurants. As its name suggests, Las Meras Tortas is a counter-service sandwich joint tucked away on Statesville Rd., serving up fresh, authentic flavors with lightning-fast service.

Must-order dish: Loosen your belt and take on La Mera – Mera: a torta with breaded steak, hot dog, and cheese.

Address: 14601 Statesville Rd, Huntersville, NC 28078
Hours: 6am-11pm daily

Las Meras Tortas is in the back of a Citgo Gas Station/Pitt Stop Market. As soon as I walked in the smell confirmed it was going to be good…and it was! Authentic flavors from Mexico, El Salvador and the Caribbean. We ordered a burrito, torta some pupusas and maduros (sweet plantains) for takeout. Everything was flavorful and delicious. I speak from experience after many years living in So California. We have had authentic flavors from all over Mexico, and Central/South America. We will be back. You won’t be disappointed.

12. Verde  (947 Google Reviews)

Following in the footsteps of its sister restaurant, The Prickly Pear, Verde isn’t your typical Mexican restaurant. Its menu combines regional textures and ingredients to create never-before-seen dishes. Paired with its sleek and modern atmosphere, Verde offers the comfort of classical Latin cuisine while bringing a new-age flair to the table.

Must-order dish: Mariscada is the only way to go. With coconut-chile guajillo Brazillian seafood stew, shrimp, calamari, white fish, mussels, and Mexican rice, your taste buds will be all but dancing.

This place is a hidden gem! The food was absolutely amazing and flavorful. Daniel our server was so nice and made recommendations on the meal we should try,  and it did not disappoint. The mango and pineapple margaritas were delicious. Will definitely come again!

Killington’s is Mecklenburg’s first-ever gastropub, bringing American fusion and a laid-back atmosphere to the Lake Norman area. Its extensive menu is prided for having “something for everyone,” with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options abound.

Must-order dish: My personal favorite is the Salmon BLT. The lemon pepper aioli adds the perfect citrus kick to the sandwich.

Address: 10010 Rose Commons Dr, Huntersville, NC 28078
Hours: 11am-9pm Sunday-Thursday; 11am-10pm Friday & Saturday

“This place is AMAZING!! some of the best food i’ve ever had. I got the choripollo (Grilled chicken topped with queso and chorizo) and it was so good. I also had some of the Baja fish tacos and those were just as amazing. Their queso, guac and salsa are super good as well. Amazing food, and GREAT service! we were a party of 12 and were seated immediately and got our food very quick.”

Grab a pizza, a salad, and a plate of pasta to get a bit of everything!

My very 1st brick-oven pizza experience and it was absolutely amazing!! Brixx has got to be the best pizza I’ve ever tasted…not even kidding. I got the 4×4 and it was loaded with savory meats, melty cheese, and just the right crisp to the crust. Their selection of craft beers was legit too. My wife got a Mojito and said it was fantastic as well.

16. Que Onda Cantina  (835 Google Reviews)

Nestled in the neighborhood of Highland Creek, Que Onda has been a staple in the Mexican food scene for over a decade. Their bottomless chips, made-to-order guac, and fresh street tacos boast regionally-inspired, comforting flavors with a kick.

Must-order dish: Birria Tacos. IYKYK

Hours: 12pm-8pm Sunday; 11am-9pm Tuesday-Thursday; 11am-10pm Friday & Saturday; Closed Monday

We can’t give Qué Onda enough praise! The food here was out of this world, from the salsa to the Tres Leches Cake and everything in between, this was one of our best experiences at a Mexican restaurant. They offer gluten-free options as well! Our server was so nice and attentive even though the house was packed, and our food still came out in a reasonable time. If you decide to try out Qué Onda, be prepared to settle into a food coma once you leave!

17. Kabuto Japanese Steakhouse  (698 Google Reviews)

There’s nothing better than dinner and show, and oh, what a show Kabuto puts on. At this hibachi-style dining establishment, you’ll be treated to authentic sushi, teppanyaki, and pan-Asian fare made live at your table by showman chefs.

Must-order dish: Steak & Chicken Hibachi – you’ll have a timeless memory (and leftovers).

Address: 16516 Northcross Dr, Huntersville, NC 28078
Hours: 12pm-2:30pm & 4:30pm-9pm Sunday; 4:30-9pm Tuesday-Thursday; Closed Monday

To start, the place was beautiful inside, very nice koy pond. Get there early (the seats fill up fast) dont get scared by the price, the meals are well worth the price and the waiting staff is fast and courteous, as for the chef and show… incredible. They hit all the classics like the onion volcano and throw in some new moves with a little razzle-dazzle. All in all it was great.

19. Antico Italian Restaurant  (590 Google Reviews)

Antico is a cozy, laid-back restaurant offering pizza and casual Italian cuisine with no frills and no fuss – just good food. Made with authentic recipes and high-quality ingredients, everything from the antipasti to the dolci will have you singing Antico’s praises.

Must-order dish: Antico’s Penne alla Vodka is divine. We recommend adding grilled chicken, but caution: there will be leftovers!

Address: 9719 Sam Furr Rd C, Huntersville, NC 28078

There isn’t a lot of warmth while seated at Antico but everything that we ordered from our group on 4 was amazing.   Our server was very knowledgeable and gladly answered questions and made recommendations.  Though the ambiance is only slightly better than what you’d expect in a strip mall, the food and welcoming wait staff definitely made up for it.  Definitely returning.

Nice atmosphere, lighting was dimmed which is perfect for a date night or nice evening with friends…nothing bad to say! Definitely will be back!
